Heatherbrook Poetry Slam

A Wonderful Afternoon of Poetry at Heatherbrook

Heatherbrook Primary Academy was filled with rhyme and rhythm on Monday 5th October 2026, as learners came together for an afternoon of poetry.

The competition welcomed both individual and class entries. Learners chose and learned their poems with care, and they performed them with a confidence that was a joy to watch. Some pieces were funny and some were thoughtful, and every one of them was delivered with real effort.

Choosing the winners was no easy task. Otchali was named the overall individual winner, and Year 1 took the class prize. Year 2 were the runners-up with a lively and polished performance.

Our thanks go to every learner who took part, and to the staff who helped them prepare. It was a lovely reminder of how much our learners enjoy words and performing for others.
